Keep bank statements and payslips in one folder per year
Omaculate moves documents that look like bank statements or payslips into Statements and Payslips, with a folder for each year, going by their names in English, Spanish and German.
Why it helps
A mortgage, a visa or a tax return all start with "send us your last statements". Having them in one place by year makes that a two-minute job.
What it matches
- Documents (PDF, Word and similar) whose names read like a statement or payslip
- With Grand Oma and smart naming, Oma also reads the document on your Mac when the name doesn't settle it
What it leaves alone
- Images and spreadsheets, even if named "statement"
- Invoices and contracts (their own recipes)
A document in Downloads that looks like a statement or payslip is moved to Downloads/Statements and Payslips, by year.
Set it up in Omaculate
- Open Omaculate from the menu bar and go to Recipes.
- Under Suggested, choose Statements and payslips. It's ready to save, on Downloads.
- Look over the files it would touch, then press Save.
- Press Tidy now, check the list, and approve it.
Change anything by tapping its words, for example: a folder per month; move them into a folder outside Downloads, like Documents/Finance.
Or by hand: search Downloads by name
- Open Downloads and press ⌘F.
- Search for "statement", then "payslip", and drag the results into a folder for each year.
Questions
Which languages does it understand?
Names in English, Spanish and German. With smart naming on a Mac that has Apple Intelligence, it can also read the document itself.
Are my statements read by a server?
No. Everything happens on your Mac. Files and file names never leave it.
