Gather voice memos, interviews and audio files into one folder
Omaculate moves every audio file in Downloads (MP3, M4A, WAV, Opus, FLAC and others) into an Audio folder. No recipe it suggests ever trashes audio.
Why it helps
Recordings are often the only copy of an interview or a meeting. They belong in one known place, away from the installers.
What it matches
- Audio files: MP3, M4A, WAV, AIFF, Opus, Ogg, FLAC, M4B and others
What it leaves alone
- Videos (Photos and Videos has those)
- Audio inside folders or zips
An audio file in Downloads is moved to Downloads/Audio.
Set it up in Omaculate
- Open Omaculate from the menu bar and go to Recipes.
- Under Suggested, choose Audio and recordings. It's ready to save, on Downloads.
- Look over the files it would touch, then press Save.
- Press Tidy now, check the list, and approve it.
Change anything by tapping its words, for example: move them into Music; add a date to the name: {date}-{name}.
Or by hand: group by kind
- Open Downloads and choose View › Group By › Kind.
- Drag the Music and Audio group into a folder.
Questions
Will Omaculate ever delete my recordings?
Nothing is ever deleted. This recipe only moves audio, and anything a recipe sends to the Trash waits for you to approve it.
