Summary
- Omaculate works on your files on your Mac. No file, file name or folder name is ever sent anywhere.
- It goes online for one thing: to check your trial and Grand Oma purchase, through RevenueCat, using an ID made up by the app.
- No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking. We don't sell or share data.
What stays on your Mac
- Your recipes, folders and settings, stored inside Omaculate's sandbox.
- History: the moves, renames, tags and Trash actions Oma made, with file names and locations, kept for 90 days so you can undo them.
- Folder access: the permission macOS gives for each folder you choose, stored as a bookmark only this app can use.
None of this leaves your Mac. Clear all data in Settings removes it.
Smart naming
Smart naming (Grand Oma, Requires macOS 26 and Apple Intelligence) reads the first 2,000 characters of a PDF or text document to suggest a short name, and can check whether a document looks like an invoice, statement or contract. It uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. The text and the names stay on your Mac and are never sent to us, to Apple or anyone else.
Purchases and the trial
Purchases are made through the Mac App Store; Apple handles payment and we never see your payment details. To know whether your trial is running or Grand Oma is bought, Omaculate uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives:
- an app user ID created by Omaculate (not your name, email or Apple Account)
- your purchase history for Omaculate: the free 3-day trial and Grand Oma, with dates
That is used only to make the app work. RevenueCat's analytics attributes are turned off. As with any connection, RevenueCat sees your IP address while it answers. It handles this data for us under its own privacy policy.
What we receive
From RevenueCat, the purchase records above. Nothing about your files. If you share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may also give us anonymous crash and usage statistics through App Store Connect. If you email us, we use your address only to reply, and delete the conversation when it's no longer needed.
App Store privacy label
Omaculate's App Store label lists Purchases and Identifiers (user ID), linked to you, used for App Functionality. "Linked to you" because the purchase records are tied to the app user ID so a purchase can be restored. They aren't used for tracking or advertising.
Keeping and deleting data
- On your Mac: Settings › Clear all data removes recipes, history and folder access. Clear history removes History alone. Your files stay where they are.
- Purchase records are kept as long as they're needed to restore your purchase. To have them deleted, email us your Apple order ID for Omaculate.
Permissions
- Folders: Downloads, plus folders you choose in the standard macOS folder picker. Pictures, Movies and Music only when you pick one as a destination.
- Network: only for the purchase check.
- Notifications: batches ready, runs done, the trial ending and the optional weekly summary. Turn them off in System Settings.
- Open at login: on during setup, on a step that explains it; turn it off there or in Settings.
- Omaculate never asks for Full Disk Access, Accessibility, or control of other apps.
